Mathematical General Relativity: Background in Special Relativity, Black Holes

The goal of this series of talks is to give an introduction to mathematical general relativity sufficient to appreciate recent progress and current problems in the field, as well as to study and critique standard concepts and formulations in the hope of opening new avenues of investigation. In this third talk we will complete our discussion of special relativity and the Schwarzschild solution and begin a discussion of the Kerr solution.
