Mathematical General Relativity: Geometry of Schwarzschild Spacetime

The goal of this series of talks is to give an introduction to mathematical general relativity sufficient to appreciate recent progress and current problems in the field, as well as to study and critique standard concepts and formulations in the hope of opening new avenues of investigation. In this talk we will continue our study of the Schwarzschild solution with a description of its various extensions, as well as asymptotic issues which lead us towards a consideration of conformal compactifications and Penrose diagrams.
