Non-standard groups and rings

Like in non-standard arithmetic and non-standard analysis, one can introduce non-standard groups and rings.

This leads to a “non-standard” combinatorial and geometric group theory. In this talk, I will discuss some interesting examples and unusual applications. I will say a few words about non-standard versions of free and hyperbolic groups, non-standard polynomial rings, and free associative algebras.
